Partial derivatives in a chart as operators on the structure sheaf #
A manifold of BierstoneβMilman's category is covered by regular coordinate charts U with
coordinates x = (x_1, β¦, x_n), x_i β πͺ_M(U), on which "the partial derivatives β^{|Ξ±|}/βx^Ξ±
make sense as transformations πͺ_M(U) β πͺ_M(U)" [BM97, (0.3)]; KollΓ‘r's derivative of an ideal
sheaf is formed with the derivations β/βx_1, β¦, β/βx_n of local coordinates
[Kol07, Definition 73]. For a chart Ο of the maximal atlas with coordinates
Ο : E βL[π] (Fin n β π) (the coordinate functions x_i = Ο_i β Ο) and an open V β Ο.source,
the i-th partial derivative in the chart of a section f of πͺ_M over V is the section
(β_i f)(x) = D(f β Οβ»ΒΉ)(Ο x)(Οβ»ΒΉ e_i),
the derivative at Ο(x) of the analytic function f β Οβ»ΒΉ on the model space along the i-th
coordinate vector. It is analytic (an analytic function has analytic derivative, Mathlib's
AnalyticAt.fderiv, composed with the analytic chart), so β_i is an operator on πͺ_M(V); it is
additive, π-linear and satisfies the Leibniz rule (fderiv_add, fderiv_const_smul,
fderiv_mul), so it is a π-derivation coordDeriv E Ο Ο hΟ V hV i : Derivation π πͺ_M(V) πͺ_M(V).
At the stalk πͺ_{M,a} the same operator is
coordDerivStalk E Ο Ο hΟ ha i : Derivation π πͺ_{M,a} πͺ_{M,a}, defined through the chart transport
πͺ_{M,a} β+* πͺ_{E, Ο(a)} as the partial derivative pderivGerm of analytic germs (that the germ of
β_i f is β_i of the germ of f is coordDerivStalk_germ in
Hironaka/Manifold/Germ/CoordDerivChart.lean). The π-algebra structures used are the
pointwise one on the sections (Mathlib's ContMDiffMap.algebra) and the constants
const π E M a : π β+* πͺ_{M,a} on the stalk, with the β-algebra structure through β β π that
the regular coordinates of the Hironaka library (IsLocalRing.RegularCoords) require.
These derivations make the analytic stalk an instance of the Hironaka library's regular
coordinates (Hironaka/Manifold/Germ/CoordDerivCoords.lean) and enter the derivative ideal
sheaves of the maximal-contact construction (Hironaka/Manifold/IdealSheaf/Deriv.lean).
The π-algebra structure of the sections πͺ_M(V): pointwise scalars, Mathlib's
ContMDiffMap.algebra (the scalar c acts as the constant section c).
